In early Clinical trials:
- 58% of patients respond, 37% have remittance of symptoms, 1. Carpenter et al, 2010
In Newer Larger Clinical trials:
- of over 3800 patients who had completed at least 20 sessions 63-70%of patients reported significant response and 25-35% reported remission of symptoms,

Remission = depression score of less than 5 on 27 point scale

Response = reduction of depression symptoms by 50% or more

Our Practice

Evergreen TMS is owned and operated by Kari Heistand, M.D, board certified psychiatrist. Dr. Heistand graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine and Psychiatry Residency and has completed a visiting fellowship on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation through Duke University. She is an active member of the Clinical TMS Society.

Dr. Heistand has practiced psychiatry for over 15 years and treated many patients with treatment resistant major depression. During this time although many patients improved, there were always patients for whom more traditional treatments did not provide satisfactory results. She is very excited to be able to offer this effective and well tolerated treatment for those patients whom medications are not tolerated or adequately effective for major depression.
